His sailing carrer developed from sailing on Optimist, to sailing in the Europe and Laser classes, to being a member of the most prominent Slovenian sailing crews on large sailing yachts at home and abroad. He has performed the most demanding functions on board and gained invaluable experience over a long sailing career. He was also a member of double-handed sailing crews when Slovenia was ranked the highest in the world "Match Race" rankings. Mitja is also knowledgeable about racing and cruising boats that compete under the ORC, IRC system, and is hired by crews abroad as a Performance Coach and Tactician. Through his love for competitive sailing he also combines his business career with working for one of the most prominent sail manufacturers in the world, North Sails.
