Vid's sailing career started as an Optimist at the local sailing club and then through 'primary school' in Olympic classes such as 470 and 49er, in which he competed at regattas and championships as a regular member of the youth and junior national teams. From there on he has built a rather heterogeneous sailing career, actively participating and having participated in several international projects in current sailing categories as a sailor, coach or technical team leader. He competes in major regattas in Melges24, Mini650, Class40, J70 and maxi sailing in established teams, achieving top results. He also participated in the first Slovenian RC44 project and today he is the owner of SSC18.
